Igniting your Soul in 2024 ~ Practices for the New Year
What does it really feel like when the soul is ignited?
I have been sitting with this question as we move into January a month often filled with goals, desires, and dreams. It is funny to me how the change of the calendar can prompt us to think about showing up differently in our lives. I have always found January 1st to be such a sacred time. A time I have chosen to spend in deep reflection and a time where I can give myself space to think about the next.
And I have noticed that this year for me feels a little bit different.
As I sit in reflection of 2023 I am in awe of so many of my dreams and desires that have come into form. As my life has changed I have noticed my practices also shifting as well. Welcoming in new life in 2024 will require the practice of checking in with my soul.
What ignites my soul? What allows me to come alive and feel connected?
And so as I gracefully move into a new year I am exploring my practices from a place of compassion. What is serving me and what is not? How can I stay connected to my soul moment to moment? Where can I soften and let go?
Inviting you in to explore these questions and have curiosity to what ignites your soul in 2024.
I also wanted to share one of the most profound practices that I have been engaging in for the last 5 New years. After I have created space for mediation and reflection I sit down and I read a letter I wrote to myself from the previous year. I allow myself to feel deeply into where I was and what I desired for the year ahead. I notice what I may have wanted and what I received. Allowing myself space to feel into any disappointment or fear. As I sit for a moment longer I move into drafting a new letter for the year ahead. This practice for me feels like a gentle offering to my soul. Being able to ask myself what I truly desire and putting it on paper to come back to in the coming year. Allowing myself to put my dreams and desires on paper make them real and allow them to come alive inside my soul.
What are some of the practices and rituals you have for welcoming in the New Year?
I would love to hear!
