Why we should Always Say Yes
After returning home from three months of travel, I was hesitant to get on a plane and travel to Spain for a teacher training. It felt comforting to be back home and to settle back into a routine. When this opportunity came up my immediate response was how can I leave again. I started to make excuses for myself of why I should not go. After some contemplation, I decided to Say Yes. Of course, it was the best decision I could have made. It allowed me to expand my yoga teaching and further my individual growth.
It is often the things that are uncomfortable or that scare us that become easy to avoid. It is comforting to have a routine and to know exactly what will come next. But what about the things we say no to just because we worry about how it will make us feel. It is easy to say we are too tired or too busy to avoid an uncomfortable situation.
Start to notice the times in your life when you are saying No. Are you saying No because it does not align with your values, intentions or path; or are you saying no because the outcome is unknown.
I have made a promise to myself to say Yes to all that comes my way, as long as it aligns with my values. I choose to say yes to all that scares me, to everything that is new. Most importantly I choose to Say yes to the unknown. By saying yes we are able to experience life, to gain a deeper understanding of who we are and the path we are on. A simple reminder that life can never be fully planned. The beauty of life is allowing it to unfold one single moment at a time. Stand in your power, beauty, and strength and continue to say Yes to all that comes your way.
